“Free these workers!” Workplace democracy, what are we talking about?
14 May | 18h30 - 21h30
On May 14, 2019 at 6:30 pm, Pierre-Boris Kalitventzeff will participate in the conference-debate on the theme : “Free these workers!” Workplace democracy, what are we talking about?
For several years now, various workplace “liberation” or “re-invention” projects have been gaining in interest for companies, the scientific community and the general public. However, definitions differ as do organizational practices. So what are we talking about after all? Do these practices contribute to democratizing the workplace? Are they participatory practices, self-management, or just a hollow fashion? What are the ambitions of such projects? Or how is the role of managers or social partners in these organisations changing?
Based on testimonies from companies experimenting with new ways of organizing work, Olivier Jégou (UCLouvain), Pierre-Boris Kalitventzeff (Phusis) and Marie-Hélène Ska (CSC) will debate and attempt to respond to these questions. Reflections, exchanges and debates will then continue around a cocktail reception sponsored by Monizze.
